One book, complete sources
Oh My Pi (OMP) is an agentic coding CLI. Oh My Pi Workbook combines the complete Memory, Tan, Tool permissions and approvals, Extensions, and Session Continuity workbooks into one standalone reading project. Tan means tangent subagents, not TanStack. All 78 source chapters appear; the original chapters, public example files, and interactive Memory lab remain intact. Permissions adds its own inert fixtures. Introductions, transitions, connections, reading paths, glossary, and conclusion explain how the topics fit together. A complete practical guide to OMP sessions, memory, tangent subagents, tool permissions, and extensions, with fictional labs, intact examples, and explicit evidence boundaries.
The book distinguishes session journals, live context, provider-facing state, and memory stores; tangent focus and cancellation; tool permissions and approvals; extension persistence; and continuity operations such as resume, fork, reset, export, and sharing. It is independent educational material, not OMP product marketing, a hosted session service, or an MCP server. Reading is free, without an account or payment. OMP and provider use and costs are separate.
Parts and reading paths
- Sessions, resets, and reviewable history · Markdown: Choose the intended conversation, change only the intended session boundary, and inspect the full representation before considering disclosure.
- Memory and reusable knowledge · Markdown: Distinguish current context from retained evidence and reusable procedures, then inspect scope and outcomes instead of trusting memory acknowledgements.
- Tangent work and live control · Markdown: Find the exact tangent, address its current conversation, and separate view changes, turn interruption, job cancellation, revival, and terminal intent.
- Tool permissions and approvals · Markdown: Explain why a particular tool call is allowed, prompted, or denied by following its operation, tier, policy identity, host capabilities, and actual effect boundary.
- Extensions inside those boundaries · Markdown: Build explicit human and machine capabilities whose permissions, state lifetimes, delivery, loading, and verification match the host that actually runs them.
Use the reading paths for a concrete goal, or read in order. The concise Markdown overview is separate from the complete manuscript. The agent guide and sitemap include every canonical chapter; every chapter has a complete Markdown alternate.
Authorship and source provenance
Authorship: Five source-grounded topics integrated with Ultima at max reasoning; original source chapters and examples preserved, with historical and new verification kept at their stated scope. Edition source date: 2026-08-30. Content revision: omp-workbook-2026-08-30.1.
Each source chapter is namespaced as /chapters/<book>-<original-id>, where the catalog book IDs are memory, tan, extensions, continuity, permissions. Source references, source dates, caveats, and recorded observations remain attributed to their original chapters. The original workbooks are archived privately in the standalone project; their source trees, proof directories, and inference records are not public downloads. Previously published editions remain separate, but reading this combined book does not require them.
The documented custom build is not a claim about your current installation or every upstream release. Mnemopi settings are the recorded snapshot, not a live machine inspection. Historical proof counts describe original checks; integration or publication checks for this site do not rerun provider inference, TUI exercises, exports, sharing, or destructive operations. SDK/controller/RPC evidence is not physical TUI proof. Consult the upstream repository separately for current upstream behavior.
Reading, simulation, and execution are different
- Chapters: complete authored explanations, exercises, examples, and evidence caveats. Reading requires no JavaScript.
- Unified controls: navigation, Permissions, Extension, and Continuity story stages, and a self-reported checklist.
window.ompWorkbookv1 operates only these tutorial controls. Shared/book-data.jsis static reading/search data, not a runtime service. - Memory lab: the original simulator, with Markdown companion, preserves five fictional stories. Only this page exposes
window.memoryTutorialv1. It cannot observe or alter real memory stores. - Downloads: all public example files, original Extensions archive, original Continuity archive, and Permissions fixtures archive. Source views under
/examples/are inert text, not executable endpoints. Downloading does not install, enable, or run anything.
Neither browser interface reaches your files, terminal, sessions, accounts, credentials, or OMP tools. A story stage is not an execution receipt; a lesson tick is not proof of understanding; a navigation acknowledgement is not proof that a destination loaded. Read privacy and local state, the unified browser contract, and correction guidance for exact boundaries.
